  • Hammer gets wet,  and piano sound become not good .
  • And the worst case is piano gets mold.

So how should we do to take care of our piano now?

In the rainy season and in the evening: the air gets high moisture

  • Windows, doors of the house and the piano lid should be closed, .
  • Using a dehumidifier is the most optimal and ideal for the climatic conditions in Vietnam.
  • Plug in the heating pipes in the rainy season, but should not use heat pipes in dry season, because over using it unnecessarily for too long is easy to dry and damage wood.

Piano placement:

  • Piano should be placed in wide dry spaces, not humid.
  • Avoid the sun shines on directly.

Periodic tuning (very important)
The routine of piano tuning helps:

  • Strings highly stable to make exactly sound .+ Keyboard and the piano action works well.
  • Hammers balance the dynamic.
  • Technician detects and treats “common diseases” of piano: sticky hammers, sticky keys,  ...
  • Piano is always nice and clean.

Tuning piano periodically should be:

  • New piano: tuning every six months within the first 2 years.
  • Renewal piano: tuning every six months within the first year (note: if you replace new strings for the piano. It should be tuned like new piano as well), and then tuning at least once a year.
